Hello, I am Mia
Project manager. Parent. An expat living in Toronto, Canada.
A few years ago, I relocated here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter in my life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to Canada wasn’t in the long-range plan. Like many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more tangled than they should.
The Adjustment Phase
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines settled in. We found places that worked for us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Created FarmWeaveGranary
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level travel material. What was missing was an honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Canada.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Practical insights from living in Canada
- Centered on family life and day-to-day realities
- Updated when something truly changes
This site ISN'T:
- A tourism authority resource
- Sponsored review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Canada continues, and so does learning. As long as the information remains useful, I will keep sharing what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Toronto or anywhere in Canada, feel free to reach out.
Cheers,
Mia
